EINS NOCH: The Grand Farewell Match of Johannes Bitter and Pascal Hens

 

In April 2025, a very special handball event will take place as Johannes "Jogi" Bitter and Pascal "Pommes" Hens step onto the handball stage for their joint farewell match at the Barclays Arena. Under the motto "Eins noch," the two former 2007 World Cup champions will face off with prominent support from other handball legends. Not only will their long-time teammates join them, but also other handball icons and 2007 World Champions will take to the court to give these two legends a proper farewell.

 

In addition to the sporting highlight, fans can look forward to a diverse supporting program that goes beyond just the handball game. The evening will be filled with emotion and entertainment, and the current team of Handball Sport Verein Hamburg will also be involved. With special moments for die-hard fans, activities for children, and the chance to experience legendary players and coaches up close, the evening will be a true handball celebration.

A Farewell That Sparks Memories

Johannes Bitter and Pascal Hens’ farewell match is not only an emotional highlight for the two handball legends, but also a unique opportunity for fans to experience their idols live one last time. Hens, who retired in 2016, never had the chance for a proper farewell due to HSV's bankruptcy. Now, years later, he returns to finally say goodbye to his fans in style. Bitter, who just recently ended his career, came up with the idea to play this game together with his long-time teammate – a wish now coming true.

 

The teams for the farewell match will include many handball greats who played alongside Bitter and Hens during their careers. The 2007 World Champions will also join, paying tribute to their former teammates. The evening will not only be a thrilling sports spectacle, but also a celebration of the long and successful careers of both handball legends.
