A look at history
There have been a total of 70 encounters between the Kölner Haie and the Iserlohn Roosters, with the Kölner Haie winning 38 times and the Iserlohn Roosters 32 times. The duels between these two teams are often characterized by high intensity, emotional moments and close results, as both teams regularly fight for important points in the DEL. The first encounter took place in the 2000/01 season and ended with a 5:3 victory for the Kölner Haie.
The last encounter
In the last encounter, the Iserlohn Roosters started the game strongly and scored the 1-0 goal in the 5th minute through Bailey after he converted a precise pass from Whitney. The Kölner Haie reacted quickly, however, and in the 12th minute Uvira equalized with a shot from close range to make it 1-1.
In the second period, the Kölner Haie took control and took a 2-1 lead in the 27th minute with a power play goal from Thuresson. Iserlohn fought back into the game and equalized in the 34th minute through Jenike to make it 2-2.
The final period was hard-fought, but in the 48th minute Aubry put the Sharks back in the lead with a slap shot from the blue line. Despite intensive efforts, the Roosters could not equalize. In the final minute, the Kölner Haie put the finishing touches with an empty-net goal by Ferraro and won 4-2 in a thrilling duel.
